Event details : AZALEA 2K14 innovation invites...State level technical symposium conducted by

the Department of MECHANICAL Engineering, PGPCET, namakkal.

On spot Events:

1.PICASA

2. SHORT FILMS (with good concept)

3.Water Rocketry

Prior to the tournament, each team of two/three will use two 2-litre

sprite bottles to build one rocket propelled by pressurized air and water. Rockets will be launched at the

tournament.

Rounds

1) The rocket that hits the target or the most closest to the target wins.

2) The rocket that covers the maximum distance wins.

Rules & Regulations

1. The maximum number of members allowed per team is three.

2. Teams should assemble and confirm their participation 15 minutes prior to the event.

3. Winner will be decided on the basis of total points obtained.

4. Air pressure and water content to be decided on your own.

Materials to Be Used (Materials To Be Brought)

2 litre sprite bottles x 2, minimum of two bottles to be used for a single rocket.

A rubber cork with a hole in the centre to cover the bottle mouth when pressurizing.

Additional materials such as fins, nose cones, parachutes etc…. Are permitted.

Points to Be Noted

Launch Pad will be provided

Rockets to be made before the event only.

Evaluation

Total Points= 400 (200+100+100)

Round 1: 200

Round 2: 100

Design: 100

4.PARAGLIDER

“Pave the path in air with your parachute”

The parachute with safe landing of egg will be the winner of the paragliding event.

The event starts as soon as your parachute releases in the air and the best one with

maximum range, endurance and safety will be declared winner.

Rounds

There will be one round and in case of tie, there will be a tie breaker round to choose the legitimate

winner.

Rules and Regulations

1. The maximum number of members allowed per team is two.

2. Teams should assemble and confirm their participation 15 minutes prior to the event.

3. Winner will be decided on the basis of total points obtained.

4. No second trial will be provided for making or gliding the parachute.

Materials:

Materials for making parachute shall be provided by us. Extra accessories shall not be

provided.

Evaluation:

Total points: 300(100+100+100)

Design: 100

Range and endurance: 100

Safety: 100

Off spot event : paper presentation

Scope : Student will acquire and their knowledge
