Marthandam College of Engineering and Technology (MACET) is the fruit of dedicated efforts of the members of Marthandam Educational & Charitable Trust (MECT). 1) B.E.ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING (EEE)
This branch is the lifeline of industries and it offers job opportunities in every industry. Initially the students develop basic concepts in electrical and electronic engineering, computer systems and programming together with studies in applied science and mathematics. In the semesters 3 to 7, core areas are developed in depth: Electric machines, Power Electronics, Digital Electronics, Digital Logic Circuits, Linear Integrated Circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers, Design of Electrical Apparatus, Electric Energy Generation, Utilisation and Conservation.
2) B.E. ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (ECE)
The students of this branch are initially prepared with strong base in basic concepts of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Digital Electronics, Computer systems, Electrical Engineering, Applied Science and Mathematics.
In the last four semesters, core areas will be developed in depth: Electronic Fields, Communication Theory, Microprocessors and Application, Digital communication, Antenna and Wave propagation design, VLSI design, Microwave Engineering, Mobile Communication etc. Students have to choose electives in fourth year in Electronics / Communication Engineering / Computer application in which they have special interest
3) B.E. COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (CSE)
The undergraduate programmes in Computer Science and Engineering prepares students to meet the requirements of computer industry. It also prepares undergraduate students for computer related research and development by providing a firm foundation in theoretical concepts reinforced by structured practical training.
After providing sound foundation of basic sciences, mathematics and computer fundamentals, the students of the branch will learn subjects: Electrical Engineering and Control system, Analog and digital Communication, Computer Architecture, Object Oriented Programming, Computer Networks, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Software Engineering, Multimedia, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
4) B.TECH. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
In this branch of study, the students are educated in science and practices of Information technology and are prepared to be qualified for IT jobs. The programme provides students theoretical and application knowledge in Science, Mathematics and basics in Communication and Software Engineering Studies. Core Subjects include: Object Oriented Programming, Software Engineering, information Coding Techniques, Computer Networks, Database Management systems, Network programming and Management, Mobile computing, Web Technology.....
The elective subjects in fourth year include: Distributed systems, Data warehousing and mixing, Information system design, User Interface Design, Enterprise Resource Planning, Knowledge Based Decision Support System, Information security.....
