Right to reject - can help in cleaning our political system

For

- It allows the authorities to disapprove any candidate that they found unworthy to hold a position.

- Right to reject will ensure the funds to be used for the welfare of the people as people will have the right to reject corrupt political parties.

- It will be a useful tool for anti-corruption legislation.

- It will create awareness amongst the youth and it would result in sweeping through corrupt parties or candidates.

- It will ensure that the parties issue tickets to the most deserving candidates willing to work in national interest.

- Dirty politicians will eventually die a slow death.

Against

- Corruption is an institutionalized structure in India; rejection politicians won’t destroy or eliminate it.

- On the contrary taking part in polling and voting for a candidate is the way to go which would ensure selection of better political parties.

- Right to reject can only send out a message to a candidate or a party, it is equivalent to not casting a vote at all.

- It does not represent a functioning democracy rather it leaves some gaping hole in it and can create political instability.

- Right to reject weakens the institution of democracy, which needs to be strengthened.

- Incase of no body getting a majority, a re-election would be required wasting time, energy and money.

- It is difficult to implement in a huge population like India.
