CSIR sponsored national conference on "EMERGING TRENDS IN ROUGH SETS, FUZZY SETS, DATA MINING AND GRANULAR-SOFT COMPUTING" -Kongu Engineering College
Perundurai
Date of Function: Aug 3 & 4, 2012
INTRODUCTION
Rough set methods can be applied as a component of hybrid
solutions in machine learning and data mining. They have been found
to be particularly useful for rule induction and feature selection
(semantics-preserving dimensionality reduction). Rough setbased
data analysis methods have been successfuliy applied in bioinformatics,
economics and ñnance, medicine, multimedia, web and text mining,
signal and image processing, software engineering, robotics, and
engineering (eg. powersystems and control engineering). Granular
computing and soft computing have begun to play important roles in
bioinformatics, e-business, security, machine learning, data mining,
high-performance computing and wireless mobile computing in terms
of efficiency, effectiveness, robustness and uncertainty. The major
objective conference to discuss the latest research and development
results and experiences in the areas of granular computing, rough
sets, fuzzy sets, soft compuüng and intelligent systems.
This conference provides a forum to heip academics, practitioners,
postgraduates and policy makers, working in the area of granular
computing, soft computing (rough sets, fuzzy sets, evoiutionary
computing, neural networks, genetic computing, etc), to disseminate
infomation and to team from each others work. The intended audiences
are granular and soft computing researchers / practitioners, and
specialists in academia and industry.
Relevant topics included, but are not limited to:
Rough Sets
Fuzzy Seis
