Premier Institute(s)-Admission Procedure(s)
|
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of India's premier management institutes. It was established in the year 1973. It is widely considered to be one of the toughest to get in MBA programs in the world. The IIMs are more selective than any Ivy League school. The year 2008 saw around 267,000 candidates appearing for the Common Admission Test, the entrance exam for the IIMs. The IIMs were created by the government of India to augment management talent and resources in the country. The institute is located in India’s Information Technology capital, Bengaluru.
Mr. Mukesh D Ambani, the Chairman & Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, is the current Chairman of The Board of Governors of the institute. The Board consists of the Director and few professors of the institute and many successful people from academia and the industry. The new director is Prof. Pankaj Chandra. IIMB was founded and directed by Padmabhushan Prof. N. S. Ramaswamy.

PGSEM
The PGSEM this year will be offered solely in Bangalore. Given the orientation of the program, interested applicants must either be working in the IT/ITES industry, or must work in the IT division of any other industry.
Given that the PGSEM is an open long term program, the admission requirements shall be levied uniformly, regardless of any partnership agreements with IIMB. However, participants belonging to some of our partner companies (e.g. Infosys, Sun, Intel) can avail of a subsidy in fees, subject to their company's MoU with the Institute.
PGPPM
The programme presents an innovative and socially relevant approach to public policy, besides being power packed with path breaking insights about winning policy making and management strategies. Eminent academicians and practitioners from IIMB and overseas share inputs on how to mobilize participants’ intangible assets - talent, knowledge, relationship and reputation to draw up a coherent strategy to meet the needs of the emerging global and national arenas.
