Admission for M.Tech,ME,Assistantship for relevant Doctoral Programs.

Eligibility

A bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/technology/architecture/pharmacy(4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year os such programmes. Candidates in the second or higher year of the four-year integrated Master's degree programme(Post-B.Sc) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of five-year integrated Master's degree programme and dual degree programme in engineering technology candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE(e.g AMIE) as equivalent to B,E/B.Tech.

Programmes of Study and Eligibility Requirements
M.Tech (Information Technology)
Minimum Requirements
The minimum qualification for admission to any of the programs at iiit-b is a first-class four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). M.Sc./MCA degree holders can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2009 may also apply. GATE Scores (Optional) Applicants having valid GATE scores from selected disciplines may apply for the M.Tech. program. Such applicants may qualify for waiver of the entrance examination
International Students
Exceptional international students with valid GRE General Test scores and TOEFL scores as per the above requirements may apply for the M.Tech. program.
Selection Procedure
Admission to the M.Tech. program is on the basis of prior academic performance (at the high school level and beyond), performance in the iiit-b's online admissions test and an admission interview. Applicants with good scores in the GATE examination and GRE examination may be eligible for waiver of Entrance Examination
M.S (Information Technology)
Eligibility
Minimum Requirements
The minimum qualification for admission to any of the programs at IIIT-B is a first-class four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). M.Sc./MCA degree holders can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2009 may also apply. We are open to receiving applications to the research programs (particularly for the Ph.D.) from outstanding foreign applicants.
Ph.D
The usual minimum qualification required is a 1st class four-year degree in a technical discipline (i.e., a 1st class B.E., B.Tech, or equivalent), but people holding 1st class Master's degrees in the mathematical sciences (e.g. an M.Sc. in mathematics, physics, statistics, or electronics) may also apply. Ordinarily, applications from candidates holding Master's degrees in a technical discipline (i.e. an M.E., M.Tech, or equivalent) will be preferred, but candidates who possess just the minimum qualification but show great aptitude for research may be considered. Such candidates may sometimes also be advised to pursue the M.S. by Research first, prior to being accepted into the Ph.D. program. For candidates applying to do research in the Political Economy of Information Technology, a 1st class Master's degree in social sciences (M.A. or equivalent in anthropology, business management, economics, geography, history, political science, sociology or related disciplines) is acceptable. Candidates with 1st class M.Phil. degrees are especially welcome to apply.
International Applicants
International applicants who hold degrees from recognized universities abroad are eligible to apply provided they can demonstrate the research potential expected of successful applicants. International applicants will also have to rigorously comply with all relevant laws and governmental formalities concerning emigration and immigration. They are expected to fund their own travel, and may in some cases not be eligible for fellowships and scholarships.
Admission Procedure
Admission to the Ph.D. program at IIIT-B will be on the basis of submitted records of prior academic work and other scholarships showing aptitude for research, letters of recommendation, and a personal interview.
